Audra McDonald's artistry is unmatched in the range and variety of her work as a musician, and performer. Her 2015 season saw her win an unprecedented six Tony Awards as well as two Grammy Awards and the Emmy Award. In addition, she was recognized as a result of Time magazine among the 100 most influential individuals and awarded an award called the National Medal of Arts - the top award in America to recognize artistic accomplishment - from the president Barack Obama. In the year 2016, McDonald received a nomination for a fourth Emmy Award due to her performance on HBO's Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill, a special film. The Bite is a drama featuring six episodes that are based on the spread of a disease, and produced by Spectrum Originals & CBS Studios. She starred with Taylor Schilling & Steven Pasquale. She starred in 2009 as U.S. Attorney Liz Lawrence on CBS's legal drama The Good Wife. In the year 2018, McDonald returned to her role as Liz Reddick as a regular on Paramount+'s The Good Fight. She was awarded three Critics Choice Award nods for the performance. Presently, she is appearing as a guest on Julian Fellowes' historical drama The Gilded Age, which premieres on HBO.
