Linda Edna Cardellini (n e Lorraine (Hernan), is the daughter of Wayne David Cardellini (a successful businessman). Linda is Italian (from a paternal grandson), Irish (from a mother), German and English. Linda grew up living in her native San Francisco Bay area, California and was the eldest of four kids. As a ten-year-old old, Linda became fascinated with acting following her performance in the role of a singer in the Christmas show at her school. She studied at London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama and began her acting career on the British television show Just William (2010). Cinderella (2015) is her first film following the time she portrayed Lady Rose MacClare (2012-2015) in Downton Abbey which was a period drama. James later played the role of the Countess Natasha Rostova as part of the TV adaptation of War & Peace (2016). She also starred in several films, including Baby Driver (2017) and The Dig -2021. We Go Again 2018 and Yesterday (2019). Pam & Tommy, a biographical television series based on the story of Pamela Anderson (released in 2022), earned her nominations for a Golden Globe Award winner and an Primetime Emmy Award.
